Not-for-profit groups and municipalities are invited to attend a free information session on Preserve New York and Technical Assistance Grants (TAG), the signature grant programs of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and the Preservation League (see below or go to https://www.preservenys.org/preserve-new-york.html for more information about the grant available.)
The workshop will focus on Preserve New York grants and is co-sponsored by the Northern New York Community Foundation and the NYS Tug Hill Commission. The League’s Manager of Technical & Grant Programs, Frances Gubler, will explain the requirements of the grants, the process of applying, and discuss some successful previous applicants. Grant applications for historic structure reports, building condition reports, cultural landscape reports, and cultural resource surveys will be due by March 26, 2018. Applicants must be a unit of local government or a not-for-profit group with tax-exempt status. State agencies and religious institutions are not eligible to apply. The program provides support up to 80% of the project cost. Applicants must provide 20% of the total project cost as a cash match. Grants are likely to range between $3,000 and $10,000.
